The Best Shoes And Foot Care For Standing All Day

There is nothing off-limits when it comes to talking about comfort for our Facebook community. When one member posted about getting a new job that required her to be on her feet all day, our community came to her rescue suggesting many extremely comfy footwear options that will leave her feet pain-free even at the end of a long shift, and some killer suggestions for products and habits that can help reduce pain as well.

Here are the top suggested shoe styles and brands:

Dansko

A member who has worked as a nurse for over 30 years with 12-16 hour shifts where she's on her feet swears by her Dansko shoes, which she's been living in for the past 6 years. She said pretty much everyone in the hospital rocks them! Her personal favorite are the black clogs with backs. She also claims they're extremely sturdy and won't give out from everyday wear.

Vionic

Multiple members of the Facebook Group mentioned Vionic Shoes, and with good reason. They offer tons of super stylish options– think strappy flats, wedges, loafers, and block heels– but all offer stability, ultimate arch support, and cushioning. They even specialize in plantar fasciitis shoes, and our community says they are well worth the price!

Taos

Taos comes recommended to us from a teacher and former retail manager, who particularly loves the Trulie sandals with the cork bed for summer, and the Crave boots for fall and winter. The brand boasts having extremely comfortable options with an athletic footbed, all in styles reminiscent of the beauty of the American Southwest.

Sketchers GOWalks

This style comes from a group member who worked on her feet behind a cosmetic counter for 10 hour shifts, and said the Sketchers GOWalks were like walking on a cloud. Sketchers boasts that they cushioning is lightweight and responsive, with an "air cushioned dual density design for the ultimate in walking comfort."

On-Running Cloud

Coming to us from another group member who is used to long days on her feet, the On-Running Cloud is On-Running's bestseller. This shoe offers soft, cushioned landings and superior performance and grip all with the best fit in a super lightweight running shoe. Plus, you can slide it off and on without ever lacing up!

Hoka One One

These running shoes are praised by a Facebook Group member who has incorporated them into her daily life and said her body feels so much better than without them. Hoka One One boasts that their shoes are made for running, walking, road, or trail with its maximal cushion for all terrain.

Softwalk

Softwalk delivers both comfort and style, creating lightweight and airy designs that provide you with the comfy feels you need to remain on your feet all day without sacrificing style. Plus, they always offer free shipping and returns!

And here are some other footwear tips that can help reduce pain after your dogs are barking!

Compression Socks

Many group members suggested long compression socks, calling them magic for feet pain that comes from standing. This is also a suggestion we've heard from many women who swear by compression socks for air travel, too. Keep your feet energized and alive with a little extra compression. We recommend checking out Vim&Vigr for compression legwear!

Orthotics

Custom prescription orthotic insoles to put in your shoes can help correct foot iessues like problems with how you walk, stand, or run, and can slso help with foot pain caused by diabetes, plantar fasciitis, bursitis, and arthritis. One member of our Facebook Group recommended getting a free consultation, and said her orthotics helped her foot pain immensely.

Foot Cream with Lidocaine

Applying a foot cream with lidocaine before donning socks and shoes can be a true lifesaver, and came recommended by two members who are getting back into jobs requiring them to be on their feet all day.

Epsom Salt Soak

The go-to method for any kind of body pain or aches, soaking in a bath of warm water and epsom salt! This tried-and-true method will help soothe the skin, soften rough skin, exfoliate, and reduce soreness and pain. Not to mention, promote foot health and even can help draw out splinters. Feel free to add a little bit of essential oils to your bath to make it extra soothing. If you don't have a bath tub, a bucket that fits your feet filled with warm water and epsom salts should do the job too.
